Kurt’s education began at Cumberland Perry Vo-Tech. There he received his machine shop certificate after completing certification with companies in the aerospace, airline hydraulics, and training industries. He continued his studies of mechanical engineering technology, materials in science and engineering at Harrisburg Area Community College.
Since that time, he has worked as the lead mechanical designer and the lead technical illustrator for New Holland North America. He also holds the patent for their 4-way adjustable steering column for a harvesting combine. He has done mechanical design work for Volvo Heavy Trucks and York International. He has also been a technical illustrator for Ingersoll-Rand and a senior designer/equipment engineer for Engineered Arresting Systems Corporation, where he designed and implemented a number of creative in-house solutions.
Professionally, Kurt is known for his design skills. He is passionate about innovation and creativity and hopes to bring the next generation of design to Safety Hoist Company. Once you get to know him, you will realize he is also very good at project management.
Personally, he is passionate about his family. He has 6 children and 11 grandchildren. He and his wife own Florals In Time in Gap, Pennsylvania. She runs the florist shop. He serves as the clock maker, repairing and restoring antique clocks.
