Three Reasons Chimney Masons Love Electric Safety Hoists

Every chimney mason knows the struggle of getting bricks, mortar, and tools to the roof while maintaining a safe work environment. Safety concerns and complex setups can slow down progress and increase risks. That’s where electric Safety Hoists make a real difference, offering solutions that tackle these pain points head-on.

Here’s three reasons why chimney masons are turning to electric Safety Hoist laddervators to make their jobs easier and safer.

Bring Materials Up and Down

Safety Hoist’s all-electric EH-500UT is the first platform hoist designed to lift 500 lbs. of brick, mortar, tools, and other materials to heights with the click of a button.

It truly doesn’t get any simpler.

But what makes this unit even better is the ability to bring material down with the same level of ease and safety.

This makes cleaning up debris and bringing buckets and other materials down a breeze–something not true about any other laddervator on the market.

More on that later.

Safety & OSHA compliance

In general, all laddervators eliminate OSHA’s biggest material handling concern; carrying anything in hand while climbing a ladder. Not only is it incredibly dangerous to do, but it is a violation of OSHA’s three-points-of-contact rule.

When you use a platform hoist like ours, you comply with OSHA and eliminate that concern.

Now, besides the lifting capacity of our electric hoists, what else separates them from other laddervators on the market?

There are two specific features that make a world of difference.

The first is the ability to operate it from 16 feet away from the overhead load. The second, as mentioned earlier, is the ability to control the descent of the hoist back down to the ground.

Traditional laddervators have press-and-release brakes that are only controllable on the way up. This means, when you release the brake to send the carriage down, the only thing controlling it is gravity. Since it comes down so quickly this way, loading them at the top is not recommended.

So from both a practicality and safety standpoint, this feature is a game-changer for masons.

Ease of Setup & Operation

We developed our electric laddervators to speed up your job process while keeping your crew safe. That’s why it’ll take one person 10-15 minutes to set up the machine.

The hoist’s track is made up of 8-foot and 4-foot sections. That way, storing it in a standard pickup truck is incredibly seamless. The hoist comes standard with 28’ of track, so you can mix and match track based on the job at-hand.

Manufactured in the U.S., Safety Hoists are not only durable, but they’re easy to maintain in the field–and no special tools are required.

Best of all, crews of all sizes can put these lifts to use. Especially considering the masonry industry’s labor shortage, they are game-changers for one and two-man teams.
